Where are CD-ROM driver entries?

Hi,
My CD-ROM stopped working after I temporarily installed a DVD recordable and
then removed it. I suspect the driver for the latter is still active and
prevents the original CD-ROM from working (Device Manager says: Cannot load
the driver, without giving any specifics).

Where can I find CD-ROM driver loading entries in the registry?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Check Device Manager for error codes and or non-starting devices.

Thanks, Dave, I have already done that (hence the "Cannot load" message).
DM does not enable me to fix the problem, I tried uninstalling and
re-installing the driver, no luck. After re-installing the cd-rom still has
the exclamation mark, DM still unable to load the driver. I would like to
know the line in the registry that is responsible for loading a cd-rom
device driver.

"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers
required for this device. (Code 31) "

That's what I see in DM.
Thx!

Yep, that did the trick! (Removing UpperLimit, LowerLimit).
Who would have thought that it was a CD Creator issue! (Vs. a cd-rom driver)
I would have never guessed!

Thanks a lot!

Thank you also for demonstrating the use of MS support website.
I also did some digging in msdn, not by error code, however, which
is why I did not find the article myself.

Thank you for your time, Dave!
