Try stroking it on a different spot.

Respond to what? Post back with some details and, turn off your Caps Lock
before you do!

More information about the exact nature of the problem
would help... If you can see the cd reader in explorer,
but it won't recognize any media, insert a disc and reboot
and see if it will work then.
