Hello,

I have a Windows 2000 PC, Pentium 4 IMB Intellistation E
Pro computer. I tried to replace my old CD-ROM drive (it's
a Lite-On LTN-403S) with a new one, and now my OS refuses
to boot up, with the following error:

==========================
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE ROM
1962: No operating system found. Press F1 to repeat boot
sequence
==========================

1) I tried changing the boot sequence to be Hard drive,
CDROM, Removable, Network. That didn't work. Same error
message.

2) I tried setting the HDD to 'Master' mode and CDROM
drive to 'Slave' mode. Windows 2000 seems to come up now,
but not consistently. It comes up, say 1 in 4 times, and
the other 3 times, it gives me the same error message as
above. Why is it getting so confused? Either it finds the
hard disk or it doesn't, right?

In the case that it does come up, it doesn't last. If the
computer is idle for some time, it just sort of "hangs"
and doesn't respond and forces me to shut down power
manually.

I need to sort this problem out first, before moving on to
loading drivers for my CD-ROM drive. Any ideas?? Pls. let
me know if you need more info. on my system config.

Thanks!!
Charu

also
from Intel Pro 100 NIC,
when no Network boot OS are not installed it display message.

otherwaise

If you currently use a 40-pin conductor, get an 80-pin conductor IDE cable instead

also how many Hard disk drive do you have?
If just one, connect each one separate channel.
Hard disk drive primary, CD secondary
