CD-ROM Drawer not opening

I bought a Tecra 8000 that had been stripped of all
software include OS. I loaded XP via CD. Once XP was
loaded the CD-ROM drawer wouldn't open anymore. The
light comes on when the button is pushed and responds
with 3 clicks. Also the paperclip in the release hole
doesn't release the drawer.

Ideas?
