I install an IEEE 1394 PCI card. Everything worked fine.
Installed software using CD-Rom. Hooked up a camera to
capture a video clip and now CD-Rom is not working. I put
a disc in and it can not read it. I uninstalled IEEE card
from device manager. Problem come back when using IEEE
card. Apparently there is a conflict. Please advise.
Thanks.

I would try installing the card, then after the cd rom is not working, I
would remove the CD ROM from the device manager and reboot.

Would also go into the bios and where it says "Plug and Play aware OS", yes
or no, I would select no, save and exit. Might at this point remove both the
CD rom from the device manager and the 1394 card. Let windows redetect both
after you change the bios.

You could also try the 1394 card in a different slot.
