I'm having problem with my cd rom (bad block) how do I fix it; please help

The bad block is referring to data on a CD and not ther CD-ROM.

You can attempt to clean the CD Lens and retry or try reading the CD in
another PC.

If that doesn't get a result, then you have a scratched CD.

But it could also be a bad CD-ROM. I was having "bad block" errors in the log files also, it was a bad drive. HP replaced it, then the replacement went bad.
