CD's don't autoplay, Autoplay is not an option when
optical drives menu list is brought up....but autoplay is
running in properties for the drives.

Anyone got a clue to the cause?

------
Not too big of a problem...but is odd.

Hello,

please take a look at

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-

or

MS Knowledgde Base Article 330135
(do a search for "autoplay cd-rom in XP)

While reading MS Knowledgde Base Article 330135
faced with the question:
Article containes recomendation about

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explor
er\NoDriveTypeAutoRun

You must set the hexadecimal value to 91 to enable the AutoRun feature."

In my registry: NoDriveTypeAutoRun
Type: Reg_Binary
Data: ff 00 00 00

What should I do?
