CD-rom and DVD drive aren't recognized

      1st Dec 2003
Jst recently I discovered that my CD and DVD drives are not
regonized by my system. Troubleshooter says to Uninstall
and Reinstall - tried to no avail, checked for viruses,
Properties says
" Windows cannot start this hardware device because its
configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete
or damaged. (Code 19)"

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
