cd rom and DLL's...really need help!

we uninstalled norton, installed mcafee, uninstalled that and reinstalled norton.
..dont know if this caused this problem.
..cd rom doesnt work...used norton dr. to find problem...says it fixed it then it shows same problem.
we reinstalled xp and first time attempting stopped with 20 minutes to go with DLL error...tried again and it loaded
the error or to be fixed are the following 2..
MICROSOFT shared. DLL error the key SOFTWARE\microsfot\window\current version\shared DLLs, "refers to a missing file. "C:\programfiles\activision value\THP2."
and the followin
MICROSOFTshared.DLL error the key "SOFTWARE\microsoft\windows\current version\shared DLLs, "refers to a missing file. "C.\Program file\ Hewlett-Packard\hp print screen utility\uninstal.
Can you help me...no cds will load...cant use any programs including digi camera...help please I have tried posting this in several places but cant get any help

W/O the cd rom thats a tough one,try R.clicking my computer,properties
hardware,device mgr.,expand the cd rom icon,R.click,properties,select
uninstall,then close-out,shut-off computer.Restart after 10-15 sec.,let x
reinstall the drive automatically,you might even move it to another spot o
one of the IDE chains.

the only cd that will work is the windows xp

will that locate a missing file or have anything to do with DLL?
