Both my cd rom and cdrw dvd combo won't recognize any
cd's that's put into them. I double click on my computer
and I go to the D an E drives for removable storage and
when I double click on the D drive(cd rom) it say there's
no disk in,when there is one in. Same thing with the E
drive with a disk in,it says no disk is in. I also have a
yellow exclamation point on both devices in device
manager. I removed them and after rebooting Win XP found
them again. Then I installed the latest driver and I
still get the exclamation point on both devices. I can
get on the internet(cable co. said my pc won't connect
when there's a problem with it) and system restore won't
work either. I think it's time to reformat! Any
suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Mine too. It started yesterday. We got a virus and norton
could not fix it. So then it was quarantined. Then we
removed quicktime off the computer. Not sure what caused
the problem, but we have the same problem. Our Cd Rom
will not work.

If you find out anything, forward it over here.

Hi Jill, What I had to do was a reformat. My OS was
corrupt. That took care of the problem. Now it's running
better than when I bought it.I was able to save all my
pix and important documents by installing the hard drive
of the non working cd rom and cdrw pc,to my good working
pc. Then in the windows explorer program,I copied
everything to my good working pc's hard drive the burnt
everything to a cd disk. Hope you have kuck.
