Check the data cable for the CD/DVD drive and make sure it has not worked
loose from the connector. The drive could also simply be defective. I've
replaced 3 of them recently for friends.
By the way, when you said you "shut it", I hope you meant that you "shut it"
by using the close button. Pushing the drawer closed by hand will damage it.
What does a wireless mouse have to do with it? I see no relationship there
at all.
