Hi, have copied small video clip to a cd-r for first time and plays fine on
pc. Samsung DVD/VCR won't play it though. It says to check disk. Have copied
using Nero 7 trial on to cd-r imation cds. Have done as NTSC and PAL. Do i
need a special type of disk to copy to?.

You need to make a VCD to use it in a standalone DVD player.

what formats can your dvd player play, e.g divx, wma etc. then encode your
video file to one your dvd will support. if your dvd player doesn't support
other formats try vcd or svcd.
