Got problems with my CD - R/RW. Acer 2010A. Has worked very well until I
installed XP pro and started using XP devices to copy (before have been
using only Nero Burning). Stopped working after giving me some problems in
writing, wasn't able to read at all or write. After some installing.
re-installing tentatives, I moved it from master to slave; now can read WMA
files and Photo files but not any other kind of masterized CDs.
The master CDrom works perfectly.
Any ideas?
Andrea

If this was an upgrade install or you installed the version of Nero that
worked with your previous setup, it likely wasn't updated or the correct
version to work with XP. Even though you appear to be using XP's burning
function, your old software can still be the root of this type of issue.
You might want to check the Nero web site.

I updated my Nero to the last available version. Also applied the
instructions to modify the Registry, nothing happened. The CD-R/rw would
only read WMAs and not write. It has been working with the previous version
of Nero installed. Xp is up-to date. My second CD ROM reads all type of
files.
Thanks for your help anyhow, I fear its difficult to solve.
