Will someone please advise me how to overcome this problem. When I arrange
through View the files on a CD to be presented as a List and arranged in a
date order, this arrangement stays every time I use the CD as long as I use
it on Win. Vista. If I use the same CD and the same procedure on Win.XP the
files on opening the CD are always presented as Icons and not in date order!
What should I do to get the same results on Win.Xp as I get on Win. Vista?

Not sure what a CD has to do with it as opposed to any other drive/folder -
Explorer is Explorer is Explorer (at least in XP).

In Windows Explorer, set the view as you like it, go to tools | folder
options | view, and tick "apply to all folders."
