cd player doesn't eject

      1st Nov 2004
my cd player/burner at times get stuck and will not open; the green light
stays on and it appears thet it keeps spinning. (i need to open it manually).
any suggestion on how to fix it?

This could be sign that the unit is about to fail.

It could also be a sign of many other things.

At least a couple of possibilities beyond those mentioned above:

A drive may seem to be hung if the media is incompatible--it may take a long
time for the OS to tell you that.

Depending upon the CD-Burning software you are using, some earlier versions
(e.g., 5.0, 5.5, of Nero included InCD) required rt-clicking on the drive,
say in Explorer, to find the 'eject' command for CD-RWs formatted for UDF
packet-writing
