Hello. I have an MSI 865PE Neo2 motherboard, Pioneer DVR-111D, two drives
(one Win2k installation and a new clean install of XP on the other). I have
an annoying problem on the new XP installation. Any CD I play has a rhythmic
crackling noise in the background and very low volume. If I rip the CD,
Media Player plays them flawlessly and loudly. If I boot up the other Win2K
drive, again Media Player play the CDs flawlessly.
There is no background noise for DVD playback - just CD playback. Latest
AC97 drivers. I've tried disabling digital audio to no affect. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.
