cd key registration storage

I need to know where xp stores the registration of cd
keys. I need to reinstall my half life game but it keeps
trying to use an old cd key that is stored on the system
somewhere.I have uninstalled the game but when I
reinstall it it just sees the old key again. HELP!!

It's up to the game, the OS has no knowledge of it. Ask
on a Half-Life forum and they might be able to help you.

Half Life stores cd keys in the registry so you'll
probably have to go through and delete all registry
entries pertaining to half life.

You can use the HL CD KEY CHANGER program. That program reads the
registration keys. You can download it at:
