I really need help...I honestly don't know what the screen is talking
about. I used the 7 Microsoft works cd's that came with my Gateway
computer and tried to put Microsoft word 2000 on my other sony computer
but it is saying that I need to register the CD Key? I didn't keep the
stupid cd cases i just put them all in a cd book and now i don't have the
yellow sticker they are talking about with the code? Am I stuck or is
there a way to obtain it? I am so confused and have an assignment due
tomorrow....I hate being a computer idiot!!!!! thanks -girl in trouble.

Since this is OEM software (software sold with a computer for a discount
price), you are not licensed to put it on any other machine than the Gateway
you bought it with, code or no code.

Since you're a student (I assume), I'd suggest that you go to your local
computer store and buy a copy of the Student and Teacher Edition of
Microsoft Office 2003. The license for the Student and Teacher Edition
allows you to install it on up to three of your computers.

If you are unable to install Word on the Gateway because you have lost the
code, you'd have to call Gateway, since they sold you the OEM software.

This isn't what you want to hear, but hope this helps.

Be aware that Office 2003 can only be installed on Windows 2000 or XP (or
later), not Windows 98 or ME.
