CD inoperable

Currently when I try to write to my CD-R I get the
message "D:\is not accessible". Sometime ago I got a
false virus message telling the readers to delete a file.
Unfortunately I did that before receiving the message
that was a bad thing to do. I no longer know that file
but suspect it might be the reason why my writeable disk
functions are not working.

Any help would be appreciated.

Unplug the CD, start Windows, make sure it is not showing up in the device
manager, shut down, plug it back in and let Windows reinstall the drivers.
