For no obvious reason my CD unit will not load games.
Whilst it plays DVD and Music CDs, I cannot get games to
load. When I use explore, no CD is shown in the D drive.
The message, "No CD" keeps appearing with the
usual "Cancel or Retry". When I look in the Computer
Management System Log, the error
message "Error", "cdrom", ""EVENT 7" "yOUR-19NTT76OXI" IS
SHOWN. It also says that the "device has a bad block",
but MS automatic support cannot help. On some occasions
the game has finally loaded after 10 mins or so after i
have reinserted the disk, but not always. Any ideas
anyone . Latest drivers are installed according to MS

Not sure on this one but you could try uninstalling the
device in deice manager, then re starting the PC, it
should automatically be detected and installed again.

Check that you CD disk is clean, ensure no finger
prints/dirty marks/dust or scratches on the disk surface.
