Right after I did a windows update for the nivida(sp?) driver and rebooted,
my CD/DVD Rom drive disappered. There is now a "Safely remove hardware" icon
to remove my drive. I have not done anything with that yet.
How do I fix this error?

I have the same problem my cd/dvd drive is gone . I have done the register
deleting of the filters implied in this link
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/929461) But drive came back but
disappeared again and now there are no filters to delete. So I have no clue
