I have my game cd in my cd drive. I used to be able to double click on
the icon and go into the game. Now I double click the icon and the drive
boots up and that's it. No game. The drive fires up but then quits.

Right-click the icon, click Properties. Post the path to the "Target:"
and somebody might see the problem.

OK, I was hoping to see a cause for the error, but apparently this
starts a program that loads from the CD. You might try:

- CD repair for XP:
http://aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip

Also try the following. You should back up the registry before making
changes:

Click Start, Run, type Regedit, click OK.
Locate this Registry Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class
Key Name: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Value Data: [Delete All Value Data from UpperFilters and LowerFilters]
Note: Do not delete the Key or the Multi-String Values. Delete only the
data values.
Exit Registry and Reboot

- Remove then reinstall the game.
