Hi! Yesterday my CD drives (a regular CD-ROM and a DVD-
RW) suddenly became "invisible" (the file system didn't
see them; investigation suggested a Code 19 registry
problem), then just as suddenly (well, I did some stuff -
a system restore, but I didn't touch the registry
directly, too chicken - but none of it was clearly
responsible for the fix) they appeared again, and now
they've disappeared again (and again I'm getting a Code
19 registry message; I suppose I should just try a system
restore again, but I don't want to have to keep doing
that every 24 hours)! I'm running XP Pro version 2002
Service Pack 1; please help! Thanks,

PS: The troubleshooter had me uninstall and reinstall -
that didn't work.
