I have xp pro all svc packs installed and updates, recently (a few months)
I've noticed that windows will not allow both of my cd burners to have cd
burning enabled at the same time, it will only allow one at a time.
I have an External SCSI cd burner along with an internal dvd burner.
why is this? it has allowed both burners to be enabled in the past.

The native XP CD burning feature will recognize only one drive at a
time. If you had both burners recognized simultaneously in the past, it
was through using some third-party burning program, such as Nero.

I'd simply dump XP built-in CD burning There are a lot of the
totally free CD/DVD & Blu-Ray/HD-DVD
burning applications. I'd suggest to give a try to the StarBurn from
Rocket Division Software. Just in
case here's an URL:

www.rocketdivision.com/starburn.html

Thanks

I guess that sounds like a great idea, dumping xp burner ability, tell me how
to do that, and in regards to the issue at hand, I know I have been able to
use both of my burners at the same time in the past weather I used a third
part burning software or not, now I can't, this doesn't make sense, obviously
something changed, I'd like to go back and be able to use both burners at the
same time.

I do have EMC 8 it has so much ability and it does the DVD thing as well,
but even with that, I still have to check only one burner at a time.

Dumping is very simple - stop using XP built-in burning and that's
all

AFAIK StarBurn can use multiple burners at the same time. Install it
and try launching multiple burning
wizards. Busy drive will disappear from the selection list.

Sorry, never used EMC 8...
