I bought a new pc yesterday, with windows vista home premium, but my cd/dvd
driver isn't functioning properly.

Whenever I enter a cd or dvd the computer becomes extremely slow, and it
won't autorun anything. If I do anything while the cd/dvd is loading, the
entire computer becomes even slower, and the explorer window stops
responding. Up until the moment I open the tray and take the cd/dvd out, than
it all goes back to normal again.

When I do try to autorun after the 10 minutes it takes to do this I get the
following error message:

Can't access the given device , pad or file. Perhaps you don't have access
authority for the item.

(That was not the original message, I have Dutch as a standard language,
original message was: Kan geen toegang tot het opgegeven apparaat, pad of
bestand krijgen. Mogelijk hebt u geen toegangsmachtigingen voor het item).

Oh by the way, I forgot 2 things:

-It's a optiarc dvd rw AD-7170A ATA
-And if I open the cd/dvd it just shows it like it's empty.
