I am running Windows XP Pro with a DVD reader/writer and
a CDrom. Neither of the drives will recognize an audio
CD. However they both recognize data CDs. Can anyone help.

try using different types of audio cds, check with more
then 3-4 cd's if the problem persists then there is
osmehting to do with the settings/config.

will be better if u try opening the cd with media player
or any other such software,
