Hey Guys, I have a Strange Problem, Basically since about a week ago my
computer has Issues with playing Audio CD's DVD's or Copying CD's via WMP11
and Real Player. Example whilst running a DVD in play mode with Cyberlink
Power DVD it will use 99%/100% of the CPU and it also does with WMP11 or
Realplayer when Copying a CD. Not Only is this annoying but its another in a
long line of Issues with this computer so Id like to hopefully get if fixed
before I go mad. Thanks in advance And for your information Im Running
Windows XP Pro with a "Writemaster(tm) DVD Multi Recorder/DVD RW/CD RW Ulstra
Speed" the Driver is the most up to date that microsoft have Issued and I
have tried updating it.

Check the transfer mode of the controller port that the optical drive
is connected to in Device Manager, IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. It
should be DMA.

Be aware the last Microsoft Security Update for Windows Media Player 11 for
Windows XP (KB936782), which was issued a week ago, just in case you
installed it (could be uninstalled for fault isolation purposes).
