Trying to load office and the drive either cannot be
opened or it shows nothing. What is the matter?

Just asking: Do you have Roxio 5.0 loaded? I had a
similar problem after I loaded Roxio 5.0 - needed to go
the the Roxio site to download upgrade to V5.35. Problem
fixed - now can get the disk out and it reads it every time

Does the tray open on the drive by pressing the open button on the front?
If not, it's either dead or its power cable has become dislodged.
