Sometimes when i switch the cd in the cd drive over, it still think
the old cd is in there and refuses to try and bring up the new one.
It even tries to open files that it thinks are there, obviousl
unsucsessfully

The only way ive been aple to get around it is to keep opening an
closing the cd drve untill it work

Im not sure apout the model, but i know its an ATTAPI 52x burne

any help here would be ho

I had the same problem after installing a software(VMVare), which turned off
Auto-insert notification. The issue was resolved by changing the registry
key:
