My CD drives will not work. I have not done anything
different lately and need desperate help. Details are..

In the "Properties" window under the "General" tab it says
in the "Device Status" box for my SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-616F
device...

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its
configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete
or damaged. (Code 19)"

and for my SAMSUNG CD-R/RW SW-240B device it says...

"Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this
hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)"

I am very confused and am desperate for help.

"CD-ROM Drive or DVD-ROM Drive Missing After You Install Windows XP"

(There are other ways to get the bad registry keys than an upgrade install
of XP.)

As an alternative to manually editing the Registry,

Good luck.
