CD drive and secondary IDE channel

My CD drive stopped working. After several hours of
troubleshooting I discovered I no longer have a secondary
IDE channel. According to system history, both the
channel and CD drive were removed about a month ago, but
the problem only started about a week ago.

How do I reinstall the secondary IDE channel and CD drive?
