Same problem here. I went nuts trying to burn CDs; exchanged them
at Staples TWICE; still no luck. Turns out it's not the fault of the
discs. Drive just will not recognize any disc. Keeps telling me
"insert a disc in Drive D" -- when there IS already one in there!
Also -- and this may have a bearing? -- CD drive drawer opens and
closes on its own! Weird...
IMPORTANT: I *used* to be able to play discs on this system.
What could have caused it to go bad?
Running XP on a Dell that is about 2-3 years old ...
