cd cd/r drive

my computer stopped recognizing my cd and cd/r drives. i
get an error that says:

Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this
hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (code 41).


this is uber irritating. any thoughts would be much
appreciated. thanks

Josh, What have you done different between the time the drives last worked and now. Any hardware installed? software?

i have same problem as Josh code 41. I have try to restore back 1 week but have same problem?
