I am trying to burn an audio cd from one drive directly to another on a black disc. I have one cd read write drive and one cd/dvd read only. It seems that windows media player cannot do this and has to upload via the hard drive and then download? Is that right. I did it directly using a free nero download which was cool but I got rid of the nero because it corrupted the windows media player sound ( I had to reinstal it). Also the ibm loaded software I now use for photo burning (record now) does not copy from one drive to the other. It seems silly to upload and then download when I have the 2 drives that could do it directly. I'd love some advice on this. Thax Adele

The built in cd burning in xp is just a simple burning program. It does not
have the ability to do disk to disk copying. If you need advanced features
like this you have to use Nero or Roxio.

Inbuilt burning does not provide for Copy; you would have to copy files
to hard disk and then make a new CD from the result. In the case of
audio tracks, this will convert them to compressed WMA files for Media
Player and back. So you need third party software. Either the one in
Nero, or many advocate Exact Audio Copy - http://www.exactaudiocopy.org/
