....been trying everything posted here for abt 6 weeks now... the problem
came about around the sp1 upgrade period.
....recent post about checking admn tools/services.. mine ""was not started"
for some reason- since it worked fine before, since 2001: .... have toshiba
1.1 ghz, 512 ram lap top.
previous problems were... i would get 1) an error message could not complete
2) a cd that had data on it "..but was not ""readable"....
really- not the ""brightest lite- or the sharpest pencil in the box- greatly
appreciate any help....
NOW: ( after "starting the servce ).... i have burnt 3 small cd's under
300meg -
( total discs used to get 3 was 8 !!!-nooo lesss..).....
AFTER 1of 2 SUCCESSFULL BURNS...when the burner gets to the last 55
seconds..."making the disc readable"...the computer crashes..... a n d the
IMAP service goes to a "stopped state"...and on a reboot it does not revert
back on, and requires a manual "re-start"..... and then a shutdown and
re-boot to get back to working..... and it works ONCE or twice.....
(thinking huge memry leak ??)
ALSO: some... (!) of the non readable discs that previously were burnt do
show the data... but ...but some do not.....
anybody got more ideas ??? ( using TDK cd.r disks )
