Is there a version of this burner that doesn't LOCK-UP in the middle of a
burn process? When burning I turn everything off and don't use my PC which
has a 2.60 Pentium 4 processor and a Sony burner that's burn proof (no
underruns). I'm tired of throwing CDs away and having to start all over
again. Thanks.

I'm using that version on XP-Pro-SP2 without that problem.
Do you have some oddball problem with your op/sys?

The best you can do is try another program. I recommend burnatonce.

This version does not lock up.
I suspect your system is to blame but you are so arrogant
you think its always everyones elses fault

Try "Windows Media Player 11" (beta, but stable for me) for great rip and
burn features.

No problems with the op/sys. MM and Nero don't lock-up or freeze but we
like XP-Pro's ease of use more than these other two. Also we can't figure
out how to use the Jewel case creator in Nero, making it useless for us.

Thanks. I was hoping to find a version of XP-Pro that was known for it's
stability. I will definitely look into WMP 11.

I'm using the same version on win2k sp4 rollup and xp sp2 systems. No
hangs on burning either cda, mp3, data or iso's. But as someone else
mentioned...burnatonce has a good rep.

There may be other software conflicting with XP-Pro on our system. I just
downloaded Burnatonce with it's update and will try it tonight. Thanks
again.

I don't use Nero but XP-Pro-3 has a jewel case printing facility
which I use. It's a bit basic but very neat.

I would think to completely uninstall XP-Pro-3 and clear out the
registry of all relevant settings using jv16 or whatever, reboot and
then re-install it. Maybe also try a fresh copy of the download
installer too. Also check your Sony drive is set up correctly in
the properties page of MyComputer.
