My Sony CD burner writes all discs. Audio CDs play no
problem but MP3 or data discs are invisible. I have tried
various programs with no improvement. The data does get
to the disc but it appears not to close it, even though
instructed to.

One program will put up an ATAPI error. I have checked
the master slave settings and they are ok

Any ideas?

Alas I tried your idea and still same issue.

The odd thing is that burning audio CDs is no problem,
just data CDs! Strange...
