CD Burner reonized as just a CD ROM

When I go to properties on my DVD Burner I used to be able to select
the record tab, and check burn CD's. Now when I go to the properties it
only see's it only as a CD ROM. Have tried tweaks but none have helped.
Third party software works, but I would like to use the multi session
burning that XP provides seamlessly. Thank you in advance.
