Hi everyone,

My CD burner has stopped reading (and burning) blank
CDs. When I start up windows, I get the following error
message at the bottom right of the screen:

CD Recording Software
Roxio, Inc.

----------------------------------------------------------
----------------------

Issue Description:

A CD-recording driver is installed that might cause
stability problems, including problems shutting down and
problems using a CD/DVD drive. This driver will be
disabled.
This driver might have been installed by Easy CD Creator,
Windows Media Player or RealJukebox. You might not be
able to record CDs until you obtain compatible drivers.

Roxio, Inc. provides an update for Easy CD Creator users
at the Easy CD Creator Updates Web site.

For Windows Media Player users, see the Microsoft Web
site at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...a/windowsxp/ro
xio.asp.

For RealJukebox users, see the RealNetworks Web site at
http://switchboard.real.com/rj2/?cd=xpfix.

The thing is, I've been getting this error message for a
long time, but my CD burner has always worked. Also, I
don't have Easy CD Creator or Real Jukebox installed on
my computer. So I'm thinking that maybe windows media
player has something to do with the problem. The program
I've always used to burn CDs is nero burning rom, and it
was always worked perfectly.

If anyone has any insight to this problem or has
encoutered this problem in the past, any insight would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Start/Run/type: msconfig / select the startup tab. Review all of the
startup applications and see if one of them might be responsible. Use
this site as a guide to identifying the filenames:
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.htm#Select

Uncheck the box if you find a suspect.
