CD Burner can't install

's Computer Specifications

I have installed a new CD burner and I can't my computer
to recognize it. It shows power and the program acts
like it is writing to the CD, but I have no drive to
read. Please help

Julie, first make sure that the red stripe on the ribbon cable lines up
with Pin 1 on the drive and on the
Motherboard. Rt click on MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device
Manager>Dvd/Cdrom drives. See if it's showing up there.
