CD and DVD not registering changed disk

Has anyone had and solved this one?

When a CD or DVD is changed, Windows XP still sees the contents of the
previous CD or DVD. None of which can be loaded. It just keeps the
directory information in some sort of cache, thus preventing a new disk
to be used.

This happens top both the DVD RW and CD RW I have installed.

Stuff I have tried so far:-

Change Hardware - New AOpen DVD RW Fitted - no difference
Changed Slave master arrangement - no change
Used single drive only - same
Removed device drivers and re-installed - ditto
Performed Repair of XP - Bugger all

This is a pain in the butt, I can only see a wipe and re-install as a
solution, and what a pain that would be.

Darren

I've been having the same problem with my DVD RW drive. Did you find a
solution? This has just been happening to me in the last month.
