.. . . . and not for the first time!
Windows simply does not recognise either existing drive
Twice before this happened and then they reappeared with
no apparent halp from myself. Even the drawer will not
open on either. Any ideas?

i would suggest checking the cables and making sure the
are firmly connected first

>i too am having the same problem. the dvd drive appears
and disaapears at will, I have tried making sure the
cables are properly seated and this still occures. i
think microsft should let up alittle on the device
drivers and let the hardware manufactures make good
drivers again instead of the microsoft default drivers.
just my thought all the other hardware i have that has
its own drivers works fine the dvd drive i purchased had
no drivers enclosed and have none on the web site they
claim microsofts default drivers should be fine.
