CCleaner and Windows Defender

Recently, as in the last 2 months, whenever I try to start CCleaner from the
shortcut that was created at install time, CCleaner takes upwards of 7 - 10
seconds to start. This only started recently and has nothing to do with the
release of CCleaner that is running. If I stop the Windows Defender service
in the task list, CCleaner starts right away. What change in Windows Defender
could have caused this problem?
Thank you for your assistance.

I found my own answer. I had to go into Windows Defender - Advanced Options -
and add entry for the C:\Program Files\CCleaner

I never needed to do this before.

Anyone know what has changed?

Does anyone look at these posts?

Regards,
