Catastropic Failure on Startup

When I try to open Outlook 2003, I get the msg -
Catastropic Failure - 'Iris.Mapi.MessageStore'
....then an OK button.

I have no idea what this means. I UN-installed the entire Office suite and
did a brand new install. Same msg. Then I downloaded the Windows XP Service
Pack 3 hoping there would be a 'fix' in that. Same problem... every time I
try to open Outlook, I get the same error msg again.
I then started clicking on the msg and found that when I click 'OK' about 4
times, the msg finally stops.
Is there some 'fix' from Microsoft that will cure this? I haven't proceded
with trying to setup an email account till I figure out how to fix this
problem...
Thanks.

Version of Outlook?

the reference to Iris indicates it involves BCM. Are you using it?

I'm sorry - I don't know what BCM is.
The version on my computer is Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003.

Business contact manager. it's installed, hence the error but if you are not
using it you should uninstall it.
