I just installed a new AIW 9600 pro card. I installed the catalyst software
which was on the installation CD that came with the card. Nowhere could I
find which version of the software is on the CD. I know I'm overlooking
something but can someone please tell me where to look to find the version
number. The only reason it really matters now is because I see a new version
on the ATI web site that was just released a few days ago. I like to have
the most current version. Thanks a million.

Thank you very much JAD. I followed your instructions and found the
information. The problem is the catalyst version is listed as 02.0. Could
that be correct? Being that the AIW 9600 just came out last week I expected
a higher version of the software. Thanks again.

So download and install the latest version. You can be sure it'll be later
than the version onthe CD if it was released a few days ago, right?

The latest catalyst driver 3.8 is not perfect.
I would say update to 3.7

I didn't know how to find out what version I had. I figured since the AIW
9600 is a brand new card that maybe it came with the latest software. Now I
know that it didn't and I downloaded and installed the latest version
tonight. Thanks.

Yeah, but if the latest verson is only a few days old (~2 weeks now), then
whats on the CD can't be the latest (it rarely is, anyway). It takes quite
a while to get the CDs made, back to the manufacturer, into the boxes, out
to wholesalers, to the distribution centres of the shops you buy from, into
the shops, onto the shelves, over the counter and into your house :-)

I tend to download all the latest drivers before installing the hardware and
hardly ever use the supplied ones. Thats just me though.
