Catalyst 4.4 bug

If I enable large system cache and reboot, I am left with a 4-bit
640x480 display that I cannot alter. The ATi CP is also missing its
tabs.

Undoing the large system cache and rebooting results in my normal
display.

Cheers,

Guy

This isn't new to the 4.4s, I had problems with it when I first
installed my Radeon last summer; the large system cache setting and the
catalysts have always been a problem afaik, you're lucky you didn't
completely fuxor your HDD.

Simple solution, don't use large system cache.

Its not how large, its changing this registry setting:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\Memory Management]
"LargeSystemCache"=dword:00000000
so that dword:00000001

Or it's changing the Control
Panel>System>Advanced>Performance[Settings]>Advanced>Memory Usage, tick
System Cache rather than Programs.

What's the reason to change this setting? Why choose large system cache vs
large program cache?

Large system cache is if you want to run that PC as a server. Run program
cache for workstations/PCs.
