Has anyone out there made any interesting/surprising observations about the
difference in image quality and performance in BF1942 with this new driver
release? Keep it simple if you like--you can just post your system and
whether or not you think you got an increase or decrease in image quality
and performance.

Dell Pentium IV 2.6 ghz
1.0 gig pc1066 ram
Radeon 9700 PRO@1024x768@75hz

Image Quality: DECREASE
Performance: INCREASE

Note: I'm noticing something strange in the landscape textures--the desert
sand for example has a kind of electric graininess to it now--something I
never noticed before. It is subtle and I wouldn't call it a glitch or
anything like that--but it just seems a little less natural. Strange.

I play BF1942 a lot.. ok too much now that I am retired.. DC and FH
mods. I recently updated to 3.8 and all I can say is wow, talk about
nice! Everything improved, quick framerates and textures are awesome!
Everything cranked up and it all looks good.. but of course, for
better fragging, I tone things down to get smoother action..

I love the shiny metal reflections off the aircraft.. I dunno if
that's something new with either the driver update or the game update
but never noticed it before =)

I noticed that too! I think it was always there but has become more
pronounced recently for some reason. Look at your gun too it reflects as
well.

Are these noticeable in mods too? I don't play vanilla BF1942 anymore.
