Cat 3.5 Install Difficulty

I uninstalled the previous 3.4 drivers like it said but when I try to
reinstall 3.5 I get a message to try to install Standard VGA drivers. When
my comp restarts it tries to reinstall the Radeon Drivers and can't find the
subfiles it needs and when I try to install the Standard VGA Drivers
manually I can't find that option. Luckily I found 3.2 buried in my
WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/ReinstallBackups directory or I'd really be hosed for ATI
Drivers. Yes I've tried installing over the 3.2 but that didn't work
either. Any ideas? BTW the OS is XP Home.
Thanks
Gary

Tried it again so I can say I tried this is the error message verbatum:
Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display
adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup. Thanks for the
input though.

Use system restore to go back before you unistalled 3.4. Then install 3.5
over the top of 3.4.

Find device manager. It is in control panel under hardware. Click on display
adaper; highlight the adapter and go to its properties; choose change
adaper; choose list all devices and choose the standand pci vga adapter.
Restart and try to install the new drivers. Good luck--I just started using
XP so I'm not that familiar but I think this will work.

1) Uninstall previous control panel and video drivers

2) Reboot computer

3) After rebooting end message: System find new hardware ..., Cancel and

4) Install WDM drivers and no reboot

5) Install Catalyst 3.5 drivers, reboot

6) Wait for finish of installation and reboot

7) Install new control panel and reboot

It is all.

In my experience, it wont work. One thing that really irks me about WinXP
is that you no longer have as much control over your own system. The
closest I could get to a list of all devices was a list of all drivers for
ATI video cards.

I also had problems but I just cancelled the operation and opened up the CAT
3.5 on hard drive.
