i recently swapped my computer from one case too another and seem too have
lost my CD/DvD drive functionality...... It no longer reads anything nor
appears on the my computer window. When i insert a disc i do get a loading
icon beside my cursor but other than that nothing. any workarounds too this
problem? I may have damages the mobo during the install as i have no sound
now as well.

Computer specs:
Asus A8n Sli Deluxe
Amd Anthlon 64x2 4200 @ 2.21 GHz
1 gig of ram
2 x Nvidia 7600 Gt in sli

The no sound thing forces me too buy a sound card. I'm not too worried about
that.

I would double check all connection...both for the DVD and the Sound
drivers.
did you change any of the connections like say Moved the DVD from the master
position on the cable to the slave position??
How about the power supply connections...I see you have 2 VideoCards in SLI
config...

The cards draw power straight from the motherboard.
I will check the ribbon cable position. it also may be a power issue since
its running of a 4 pin connector with a bunch of fans connected too the same
connection.

I will tool around in it tonight and see if i can get anything too work.
As for the software fixes, i have already tried those. And i have had no
luck with them.
