First thing i did, but that didnt work....I've managed to fix it, heres how:

Totally removed Realtek Audio drivers, got my mobo disc and used the drivers on there, now it works....whats the point in updating drivers if it buggers your system?

Did you get the drivers from MSI ?

i bet windows installed its own drivers

Yeah, i used MSI's Live update tool, which works in the same way as Windows update. Also got drivers from realtek's website. The only drivers i can get to work are the ones that came with the driver disc, i've had this system for 9 months no problems, and i am sure i've updated the audio drivers in that time.

MSI's Live update tool is to be avoided at all costs ... manually seek and if there is nothing new, do not 'fix' what aint broke.

I am having same problem as Mex.
I dont have a solution.
